Episode 3 : Detoxing Digital Life

I didn’t realised how much control my phone had over me until my eyes started to cry for help – literally.

Eyes barely open – scroll. Still under blanket – scroll. Didn’t even stretch yet? Still scrolling. And honestly, I didn’t think much of it until my eyes literally started burning and tearing up like they are staging a protest.

At night? Oh, even better. I’d have a show running in the background, phone in hand, probably on another app… just constantly on.

Then while studying for my certification, I read something that truly hit me : blue light exposure – especially in the evening – can disrupt melatonin production, the very hormone that helps regulate sleep. Ding ding ding! Lightbulb moment.

So, I made a shift. After 5PM, I cut the screens. During a hotel stay recently, I went fully tech-free at night. And the difference was immediate. I slept. Not just lying in bed… but truly resting.

Unplugging didn’t disconnect me – it reconnected me to peace, to stillness, to myself.
