Travelling always stirs something in me — that mix of excitement and the slight unease of leaving routines behind — different bed, different food, different rhythm. On my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, I thought I’d lose touch with my cardio practice. No familiar treadmill, no neighbourhood walks. But instead of losing it, I found something new
Mall walking 🚶🏻♂️ became my cardio playground.
Instead of stressing over treadmills, I turned the city into my gym. You know how KL is packed with huge malls? KLCC, Pavilion — and the skywalk linking them? Yup, that became my cardio track. Air-conditioned, safe, and way more fun than staring at a wall in the gym.
I found joy in the little things — window shopping as my heart rate gently rose, watching families laugh, feeling like I was part of the city’s heartbeat.
It reminded me that cardio doesn’t have to be boring. Changing the environment added this layer of fun I didn’t expect. I didn’t feel like I was “exercising”, I felt like I was exploring. And that, in turn, made me love cardio even more.

By the end of the day, something else surprised me: I slept really well. Even though I wasn’t in my own bed, the combination of moving my body during the day and the little exhaustion from exploring made me drift off easily.
And in that rest, my body quietly healed, balanced, and restored. Movement + rest — the most human rhythm of all.
So here’s the truth: cardio is not a place. It’s a mindset. Whenever you are — at home, at the gym, or in the heart of KL — if you commit to moving, your body will thank you.🙌
